Paint by Numbers Poem, Funny Poem, Two Limericks, and an untitled poem

Brenda’s poems are all serious. Some are dark and some are spiritual. That’s fine. But today is Friday, so for me, I want to post some fun poems. Like them or not, I don’t care. I had fun writing them.

My roses have bled
My violet is blue
I followed the pattern,
But my cliché broke.

You can tell you’re among poets
And you’ll be right ev’ry time
‘cause ev’ry time they speak
It always comes out in rhyme!

I just want to write a funny poem
I just desire to write a funny poem
I only desire to write a humorous poem
I only desire to pen a humorous poem
I only desire to pen a humorous literary work
I really desire to produce a humorous work of literature
I, the writer, have the need to bring forth a humorous work of short literature
I, …
I just want to write a funny poem!

(45 minutes later, a Limerick)

There was a young girl from Kentucky
With whom I was getting lucky
But then we were caught
Her father and I fought
And left my reputation quite mucky!

There once was an engineer named Janet
Who wanted to help save the planet
She wanted to give us power
Ev’ry minute and ev’ry hour
So she went to a river and said, “Dam it!”
