November 18th was a special day for me and Brenda. It was the day we crossed the barrier between friendship and love. It wasn’t until thirteen years later when we made our union official – and we chose this day to do it.

I don’t remember what the title of this poem was supposed to mean. It’s possible that it was written on our 5th anniversary (1989).

Undated – between 1985 and 1992

Forever I am truly part of thee
I remember how you were my friend
I was nineteen, you were forty-three
Our friendship would never end

We did not care, you and I
What other people had to say
As those first few months went by
Nothing more than friends until one special day

Love blossomed.
