Sing to Me (#143)
January 3, 1979 1:35 am
Sing to me, song of joy
I’ve listened long in vain
Your sweet voice sounding softly
Through winding shrouds of sorrow, pain.
Your purity, long defiled
Lies trailing on the ground
Trampled down by thoughtless men
Knowing not they mute your sound.
Curl around my yearning soul
Caress my spirit’s discontent
Whisper soft your soothing thoughts
Song of joy, bring me content.
