Everlasting

I feel a sense of wonder
As I look back upon my life.
I remember the times
We’ve had together
~ the joys we’ve shared
~ the sorrows we’ve endured.
I think of the love,
Everlasting love,
And I wonder.
Where would I be without you?
What would my life be like?
I can only think of an emptiness
A vast, deep, dark black hole
Swirling, drawing in the light.
What you have done for me.
What I am because of you.
You have filled my life
~ with love,
~ with joy,
Because of you
~ I am complete.
I originally wrote this for Brenda. I’ve been married to Vicki for over 15 years, and I feel the same way about her. During the time between, after Brenda passed away and before I met Vicki, my life was empty and incomplete.
