The Windows of My Soul: Paper Flowers (#207)

Paper Flowers (#207)

You can pin bold paper flowers
On the green growing stalks of life
And create the vivid illusion
That love has come alive.

But when life faces adversity
And the cleansing rains come down
Real flowers drink and blossom
Paper flowers are washed away.

(So, remember when taking someone to bed
That sex is the flower of love
Bedroom gymnastics are just paper flowers
An illusion arranged by lust
When faced with the rain of adversity
Real flowers bloom and remain.)
