The Windows of My Soul: Poetry Journal (#228)

Poetry Journal (#228)

A journal he wants me to keep
Me! Who writes anything but!
Bits and pieces of my life
Framed by memory
Kept alive by such a
Simple combination of things
As paper and black ink.

A journal, banal and mundane
A focus for the simple things
Spice for the comedies we live
And glue for the continuing of life.

In the spring semester of 1985, Brenda and I took a poetry class together. The first day of class the professor suggested that everyone keep a poetry journal. Really? 😉
