Jewels flashing
10,000 feet
winging down
midnight
bronzed people
pyramids
on the lakebed

This is the last in a set of these little short poems. These were all written while Brenda and I were in a poetry class at the university in Spring, 1985.

This particular poem was based on a trip she and her first husband took to Mexico many years prior. Writing this reminded her of her travels, both to Central America and to Europe before she and I met. Starting in the fall of 1985, through the spring of 1986, with the help of a graduate student from Kenya, she wrote another (much smaller) volume of poetry. When The Windows of My Soul is done, I will share that volume next. It’s something to look forward to. 😉
