Rejoice in Tomorrow

Magically, the village comes to life
The vendors calling out their wares
A train arriving at the station
Bells ringing from a horse-drawn carriage
The band playing holiday music.

Just as the star shines once again
Drawing in the shepherds from the fields
The hustle and bustle of a city
During the time of the census
And the wonderment of a newborn babe.

Once more, the Jolly Old Elf
Makes his annual rounds
Delivering his presents and gifts
To good girls and boys
(And there are no bad ones.)

In all this, my heart is reborn
I cherish the memories of
Those who have moved on
Yet I rejoice in
The possibility of tomorrow.
