Villanelle-style poem

Why do you think I am a fool?
When I speak to you of love.
I’m quite serious as a rule.

Usually I keep my cool
Writing of politics and things thereof.
Why do you think I am a fool?

Sometimes I sit upon my stool
Gazing at the stars above
I’m quite serious as a rule.

Your eyes are like a quiet pool.
I know you are my little dove.
Why do you think I am a fool?

These poems I write are but a tool.
A way to tell you of my love.
I’m quite serious as rule.

How can you be so utter cruel?
When only you I can think of.
Why do you think I am a fool?
I’m quite serious as a rule.
